Happy Lemur Day is the fifth episode of Zoboomafoo. This episode is currently being discussed in Agora Road's Macintosh Cafe, A nostalgic Y2K Forum
Summary[]
Animal Junction becomes Lemur Central when some friends of Zoboo's, two ring tailed lemurs, come for a visit. Zoboo is stunned to hear that most people on Earth do not know what a lemur is. But Martin and Chris have a great idea to set the record straight when they declare an international creature holiday, Lemur Day, a celebration of all things lemur. There is even a special Lemur Day cake. A black-and-white ruffed lemur, some ring tailed lemurs and Zoboo's parents join the party. Later, Jackie tells the guys about a creature rescue. She saw a water turtle and a land turtle heading for a busy road but managed to relocate them to a safer place: a pond for the water turtle and the forest for the land turtle.

Trivia[]
- This is the only appearance of both Zoboo's Mom and Dad in the series' history (played by Flavia and Nigel, Jovian's actual mom and dad). However, they are later mentioned in Families and Don’t Fence Me In.
- Unlike Zoboo, they don't have the ability to burp or talk after they eat (at least on Earth).
- At one point in the episode, they kiss each other.
- The "trip to Madagascar" is actually located in the Duke Lemur Center, as the real life Madagascar looks quite different.
- At the time of this episode's filming and airtime, as one of the Kratts states, only 23 kinds of lemurs were known to exist. The Be the Creature episode "Expedition: Lemurs" updated this count to 30. Since then, the number has since increased to 108+ diferent kinds of lemurs.
- This is the only appearance of both Little Leaper's mom and dad, Ring and Tail, in the series' history. In other episodes that she appears in (such as Humans and Animal Daycare) she shows up on her own.
- The cake made for Lemur Day was made of many common foods that lemurs (and humans) like to eat. The "icing" was even made from chickpeas, and the lemur decorations around the cake were made of sweet potatoes.
- An advertisement banner for Stonyfield Farm organic yogurt can be seen at the Franklin Park Zoo where the Kratt brothers announce Lemur Day to the public.
- This is the only episode where the "I Feel Different, Not the Same" song is completely rewritten with new lyrics that Zoboo saying he's still a lemur.
- The video game Zoboomafoo: Leapin' Lemurs is based off of this episode, and it even takes place one year following the events of this episode. It even uses the party scene from the episode as a cutscene.
- In real life, there is a holiday (for lack of a better term) to celebrate lemurs called World Lemur Day, celebrated every year on the last Friday of October.
